A Commitment to Community: Letsie Venture Capital’s Role in Youth Development

Bakwena Ba Mokgopa Traditional Council joins Glencore in Berseba Community for CricketSA initiative

CEO of Letsie VC Mr Phenyo Mogamisi, was honored to participate in the recent event that perfectly aligns with our company’s core values of community development and social responsibility. I had the privilege of attending the launch of Phase Four of the National Youth Service (NYS) Programme in the North West province, not only as a business leader but also as the Advisor to the Council and King of the Bakwena Ba Mogopa Traditional Council and.

The event, a collaborative effort between Cricket South Africa (CSA), Glencore, the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), and our Traditional Council, is a testament to what can be achieved when different sectors unite for a common purpose. This isn’t just about cricket; it’s a powerful initiative designed to empower young people in our rural and previously disadvantaged communities.

The programme’s objective is to provide meaningful employment and skills development opportunities to the youth in the Berseba region. Through this initiative, 200 young people will receive accredited training in umpiring, scoring, cricket administration, and leadership development. The project, which has already benefited 3,800 young South Africans nationally, will extend its reach to the Berseba Multi-purpose Facility, transforming it into a hub for development and opportunity.

At LetsieVC, we believe that true success is not measured by profits alone, but by the positive impact we have on the lives of those around us. This project highlights the importance of leadership and collaboration in restoring hope and unifying our children and youth. We are committed to fostering an environment where young people can thrive and where sports become a tool for unity and upliftment.

Our partnership and involvement in this initiative reinforces our dedication to building vibrant communities with a strong future. We are not just a company; we are a partner in progress, and we are committed to being a trusted force for development and philanthropy in the communities we serve.
